in making this in ZBrush i used
cube insert brush - for head, brows, ears, nose
sphere insert brush - for muzzle and eyes
curve tube snap brush - for lips
clip curve brush - for getting flat edges
(for using clip curve brush it was helpful working on one side then using subtool master mirror to get changes to other side.)
