some secondary face joint rigging


Here i'm making some progress on moving lots of secondary lip joints with fewer controls.  I'm finding it tricky dealing with the corners.  Also im not sure yet how this jaw lip system will integrate with lip corner shapes. it took me about 2-3 hrs to make a simpler control for lip joint and weight 2 curves of about 6 cvs each.

from this work it looks like lots more lip secondary joint skin weighting will be necessary.

Here are some of the tools i wrote that helped me get to this point (the tools still need lots of work and are not completely easy to use yet but it still may be helpful):

im not sure if a surface based approach would be more efficient and work better as this face has a rather large mouth.
